These limits ensure proper risk management while allowing traders to maximize their opportunities in the futures market. Contract Limits Based on Account Size
1. $25,000 Account—2 Futures Contracts
Traders with a $25,000 account can trade up to 2 Futures Contracts at a time.
This applies to both Micro Futures Contracts (MES, MNQ, MYM, etc.) and Mini Futures Contracts (ES, NQ, YM, etc.) but with a conversion ratio.
Micro Contracts:
Since Micro Futures Contracts are 1/10th the size of Mini Futures, traders can trade up to 20 Micro Contracts instead of 2 Mini Contracts.
Mini Contracts:
Traders who prefer Mini Futures can trade a maximum of 2 Mini Contracts simultaneously.
📌 Example:
If a trader wants to trade the E-mini S&P 500 (ES), they can open up to 2 contracts at a time.
If they choose Micro E-mini S&P 500 (MES), they can trade up to 20 contracts instead.
2. $50,000 Account – 3 Futures Contracts
Traders with a $50,000 account can trade up to 3 Futures Contracts at a time.
Micro Contracts:
Since Micro Contracts are 1/10th of Mini Contracts, traders can use 30 Micro Contracts instead of 3 Mini Contracts.
Mini Contracts:
A trader can open up to 3 Mini Futures Contracts at a time.

If a trader wants to trade the E-mini Nasdaq-100 (NQ), they can open up to 3 contracts at a time.
If they prefer the Micro E-mini Nasdaq-100 (MNQ), they can trade up to 30 contracts instead.
3. $100,000 Account – 5 Futures Contracts
Traders with a $100,000 account can trade up to 5 Futures Contracts at a time.
Micro Contracts:
Since Micro Contracts are 1/10th the size of Mini Contracts, traders can trade up to 50 Micro Contracts instead of 5 Mini Contracts.
Mini Contracts:
A trader can open up to 5 Mini Futures Contracts at a time.

If a trader wants to trade the E-mini Dow Jones (YM), they can open up to 5 contracts at a time.
If they prefer the Micro E-mini Dow Jones (MYM), they can trade up to 50 contracts instead.
