As a FundedNext Futures trader, here's how you can buy, sell, and close trades in TradingView:
Opening the Trading Panel
Open TradingView and go to the chart of the instrument you want to trade.
Click on the "Trading Panel" at the bottom of the screen.
Ensure that Tradovate is selected as your broker.
How to Place a Buy (Long) Trade
Using Market Order (Instant Buy)
Locate the Buy Market button (usually in green) on the Trading Panel.
Click “Buy Market” to instantly place a buy order at the current market price.
Your position will now appear in the Orders/Positions tab at the bottom.
Using Limit Order (Buy at a Specific Price)
Click on the Limit Order option.
Enter the price level at which you want to buy.
Set the contract size.
Click "Buy" to place the limit order.
The order will execute once the market reaches your specified price.
How to Place a Sell (Short) Trade
Using Market Order (Instant Sell)
Click on the Sell Market button (usually in red).
Your trade will be executed instantly at the current market price.
Using Limit Order (Sell at a Specific Price)
Select Limit Order and enter the price at which you want to sell.
Set the contract size.
Click "Sell" to confirm the order.
Your trade will execute once the market reaches your set price.
How to Close a Trade
Open the Orders/Positions tab at the bottom.
Locate the open trade you want to close.
Click the “X” or "Close" button next to it.
Confirm the closure to exit the trade.
