How to Use ATM (Automated Trading Module)?

Updated over a week ago

ATM refers to an automated trading strategy module in Tradovate. It is designed to help traders automate their trade management by setting up predefined conditions such as stop losses, profit targets, and trailing stops.

Setting Up ATM Strategy:

To set up your ATM strategy, go to the section beside the buy/sell buttons at the top of the charts and click the settings icon next to the ATM section.

Once clicked, you will access the ATM settings, where you can create and save your templates.

Name and customize your ATM strategy:

  • ATM Name: Click the + button to give your strategy a custom name, or select an existing strategy from the dropdown menu.

  • Show In: Set up your ATM strategy using Ticks, Delta Price, or $Value.

  • Type: Create an ATM strategy with both a Stop Loss and Profit Target, a Stop Loss only, or a Profit Target only.

  • Profit: Set your Profit Target amount (uses Limit order type)

  • Stop: Set your initial Stop Loss amount.

  • Stop Loss Type: There are seven possible configuration types available for your Stop Loss in Tradovate Web. Please refer to the section below for detailed instructions on setting up and using each option.

For example, if you want to build a template where your stop loss and take profit are 10 ticks on both sides, you would set the "Take Profit" and "Stop Loss" values at 10 ticks each, name the template (e.g., "Paxton"), and click "Save" to store the configuration.

Apply to New Trade:

Navigate to ATM:

Locate and click the "Trading" icon in the top left corner of the screen.

Choose an ATM Strategy:

Go to “Advanced” > select “ATMs.” Choose your preconfigured template (e.g., "Paxton") from the "ATM NAME" dropdown to apply the saved settings to your trade.

Select Template from superDOM:

Alternatively, select your template name (e.g., "Paxton") from the dropdown to replace "OFF" and enable the ATM settings for direct order placement.

Deleting Saved ATM Strategies:

To remove saved ATM Strategy configurations in Tradovate, follow the steps below:

  • Go to “Advanced” > select “ATMs.”

  • Click on the “ATM Name” dropdown.

  • Hover over the strategy you want to delete, and click the "trash can" icon to remove the configured bracket.
